Quick money making website ideas
Money!! Give me money now!! Hmm… A question I get asked a lot is ‘OMG how are you so awesome??’ okay maybe not but I do get asked this one,
‘I want to know how to make a quick website for some quick money, what do you suggest’
This is a question that actually bugs me quite a lot, but also it is a valid idea and question. Is there such a thing as quick and easy on the web. In short, yes there is, I used to be in the quick, short term, little profit market but honestly it just bored me, I prefer making a big comunity, loyal visitors, maintained revenue etc etc. That is not to say it is for everyone and people simply want a quick one off job to make some beer money for the weekend.
So what do you do? This is the tricky part, there are so many short term ways of making money, it simply depends what you are good at/prefer. I will try to list as many as I can but I will forget some so may add to it later.
Site flipping – I believe I have talked about this before, if not it is after this post to be posted shortly (lost track of all these posts, it was a long train journey!). Anyway, site flipping is when you buy a website for a reasonably cheap price on a website such as DigitalPoint. This website will tend to have little traffic, no revenue but a good idea, content or unique software, maybe all of the above. What you would then do is read a later article on advertisements and place revenue streams on your website. Your job then is to not add anything to the site (unless you want to) but focus on driving the traffic to the website. After your receiving the traffic and everything is dandy you can decide to either sell the website on for more since it is now making more money and move onto another site or keep it, continue driving traffic and keep the revenue for yourself. I would never tend to keep a website longer than 3 months but I typically had around 15-20 sites on my books at a time. At one point I was buying and selling websites daily. However, this turned into a full time thing which was another reason why I stopped doing it, but it is still my hobby and wish to do it more, it is a lot of fun, especially when you hit that odd gem and realise why you are in this business.
Content creation – I ended up going on a little bit in the site flipping bit, I will try to keep this one shorter. A content creator is the person who sells to the site flipper. You make a website, about what ever you want and then just sell it. Content creators can make big money, they typically do not care about revenue or traffic simply live off the sales. If you become a good writer, coder, developer etc and can do it fast enough you can be turning out websites everyday if you wish. A website does not take long to make, the making it big is he hard bit.
Proxies, proxies, proxies, where to start with them. I am pretty sure the majority of web developers tried proxies at some point. They make brilliant money, free to set up, free to advertise, cheap domain (as no-one cares what it is) and very easy to drive traffic to. Catch? These little proxies seem so lovely but cost a bomb in hosting bills.

I got a laugh out of that whether that’s what it was for or not. This comment both for fun and for entry into Nexus One contest.
